I just want to enjoy writing and maybe, just MAYBE, I'll have a chance to have something published.
A book of short stories, probably.  I can't concentrate on anything over 20 pages for long.  Hee.  Anyway, I was thinking of maybe starting a book of poetry.  It could be fun.
I know I'm not much good at poetry (po'try!  [inside joke.]) but here's a small sample of something I wrote when I was bored.

The stories made you think
that if you just wore the dress,
donned pearls and a purse
and became beautiful,
life would suddenly work out.

You went from skinned knees to "mascara, please."
You went from ponytails to plum passion lip gloss.

I watch you change,
a metamorphosis from the little girl I knew
to a gorgeous monster.

Sugar and spice and everything nice,
plastic and jewels and everything cool.

In writing today we finally read my play!
It was totally awesome possum, except that we had to get the stupid sc and costume people reading... so the girl playing Elise was nowhere near mean enough!
Grr.
And then Lili (playing Lina) said "old monkey" instead of "old money" (monkey/money is also a joke in her play, Pluto Knows All) and it cracked all of us up.
Old Monkey?
Seriously... wtf?
